One of the storage tanks at our plant has been receiving oil through pigging operations from the dock for a long time, and regular measurements have shown that there is significant oil loss. When we opened the light-transmitting hole on the top of the tank, we found that the aluminum floating roof was severely damaged. We would appreciate it if experts could advise us on how to repair the floating roof as soon as possible. Thank you
Using floating pad supports: When the floating roof descends to a certain height, supports are needed to provide reinforcement. There are two designated heights for the descent of the floating roof: the first is the lowest position of the floating roof, at 900 mm above the bottom of the tank; the second is the height at which maintenance can be carried out on the floating roof, at 1800 mm above the tank bottom. These supports are made of seamless steel tubes whose outer diameter is smaller than that of the sleeves surrounding them. When maintaining the oil tank, first fill the tank with water so that the floating disk rises to the lower edge of the manhole with a core. Then open the manhole to access the floating disk, remove the flange blind plate on the branch pipe sleeve, insert the spare steel pipe pillar into the sleeve, and fasten the flanges of the two together with bolts. People can then enter the tank to carry out maintenance on the floating roof
If the keel/buoy/seal strip is not damaged, simply lay aluminum sheet over the damaged floating roof section and rivet it firmly; this will not affect its functionality
