In a set of equipment, how should flanges be counted when adding a valve? How should flanges be counted when adding a steam trap? So, if plug-and-socket valves are changed to flanged valves, how should the flanges be counted?
What does that mean? Adding a few flanges means just that many flanges. If it’s due to welding, no additional flanges are needed
To add valves, it is necessary to check whether they are flanged; if so, two pieces will be required. The same applies to steam traps. Additionally, make sure that the flange pressure rating and the type of sealing surface match.
A valve generally requires 2 flanges. As for steam traps, it depends on their type. For process pipelines, valve assemblies are used, which necessitate the use of inlet and outlet valves, check valves, and 2 drain valves; in total, 8 valves with the same diameter as those of the steam traps are needed, along with 4 flanges of DN20 size. For heat tracing, a steam trap is usually equipped with a valve in front of it, requiring a total of 4 flanges.
