After working in engineering design for a few years, I find it too monotonous and there’s little opportunity for growth. I’m looking for small chemical engineering projects with better prospects; could that expert give me some advice? Additionally: Personally, I think desalination holds great promise, and I really want to work in this field. What do you all think of the prospects for the desalination industry? 2. Biodegradable plastics are expected to become popular – what are your thoughts?
Desalination is a technology that has been mature for over 30 years; I don’t see any future for it. Projects like biodegradable plastics find it difficult to reach scale, and their economic viability is poor.
Biodegradable plastics are environmentally friendly, and things will get better in the future; however, I think by then our generation will already be old :) Seawater desalination, I believe, is something that falls under the scope of projects or large research institutions – like the Shandong Marine Chemical Research Institute, the Tianjin Seawater Desalination Institute, and so on
15 years ago, a friend of mine got into biodegradable plastics, and to this day there still doesn’t seem to be any prospect for it.
Seawater desalination? We need to see who wants this technology.
It’s actually about the market prospects. No matter how advanced the technology is, if no one uses it, it has no future. (I mean within the country)
Seawater desalination is a large-scale project; it’s likely impossible for an individual to carry out such work in a small chemical facility. It’s better to run a small chemical plant that causes some pollution; large factories aren’t allowed to do this, so it can only be done on an individual basis.
Before the New Year, a policy was issued banning businesses from providing plastic bags for free; I heard recently that a large plastic company has also announced the suspension of its operations in search of new paths forward. In my opinion, from an environmental perspective, biodegradable plastics do have potential.
The most promising option is to establish a chemical engineering design institute!
Flue gas denitration seems to have great potential, and it is also required by environmental regulations; Biodegradable meal boxes – polycarbonate production is also good!
