During the leadership selection process in our factory, a question was asked: As a maintenance technician, how should one manage the teams under one’s responsibility?
There are specialized roles in any field; this means that technicians should provide guidance on the technical aspects of their respective fields. They should not get directly involved in team management, but rather focus on technical matters, making full use of their technical expertise to support and assist the team.
Logically, as mentioned on the second floor, technicians are supposed to provide technical guidance and support to their teams. However, in many cases, those in technical positions are also tasked with evaluating team members and similar duties. It’s difficult to focus solely on technical work, unless the company is highly organized and has sufficient staffing
