Jincheng, Shanxi: Launch of the Coal Bed Methane Energy Express Truck Project The coal bed methane energy express truck transportation network project, initiated by companies such as Jinmei Group Shanxi Chenguang Logistics Co., Ltd. and China Coal Bed Methane Co., Ltd., was launched in Jincheng; 100 heavy trucks that use coal bed methane as fuel have been put into service. 　　The Coalbed Methane Energy Shinkansen project will use heavy trucks powered by coalbed methane as a means of transport, aiming to establish a modern transportation and logistics network centered on our province and covering the entire North China region; fuel costs, which constitute a major part of transportation expenses, will be reduced by 40% to 50%. According to the project plan, this year 1,000 new heavy-duty trucks powered by coalbed methane will be added across the province, and 2,000 diesel-powered heavy-duty trucks will be modified. This will result in a savings of 200,000 tons of diesel per year, as well as the use of 300 million cubic meters of coalbed methane. By the end of the 11th Five-Year Plan period, the number of heavy-duty trucks powered by coalbed methane in the province will reach 10,000.
