For chlorine pipelines, carbon steel pipes are sufficient.
It refers to dry chlorine or wet chlorine; if it is wet chlorine, carbon steel pipes cannot be used – fiberglass or titanium should be chosen instead, while carbon steel pipes are suitable for dry chlorine
Expansion joints should be added to glass fiber reinforced plastic pipelines; it is also advisable to install expansion joints on the carbon steel pipes at the turbine inlet.
In my opinion, expansion joints must be installed on glass fiber pipes. Recommendation: For dry chlorine, carbon steel is a better choice; for wet chlorine, titanium tubes are recommended. Reason: In Phase 3, we initially used fiberglass, but due to climate changes, an accident occurred that caused the outer tube containing chlorine to rupture. Although it was an human-caused accident, mistakes do happen! ! !
