A large-scale biomass biogas power plant began operating in Inner Mongolia. On January 18, during the commissioning ceremony of the Mengniu Biomass Biogas Power Plant, a large biogas power plant powered by livestock and poultry waste was officially put into operation. The power plant was built at a cost of 45 million yuan by Inner Mongolia Mengniu Dairy (Group) Co., Ltd., with a total installed capacity of 136 megawatts. It is understood that the newly built biogas power plant is capable of processing 280 tons of cow manure, 54 tons of cow urine, and 360 tons of washing water per day. It can produce 120,000 cubic meters of biogas per day, generate 30,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day, produce around 200,000 tons of organic fertilizer annually, and supply 10 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to the power grid. The next step for this project will be to promote its application at other domestic production facilities of Mengniu Dairy Group.

There’s no technological innovation in this.
If it’s true, that would be very significant; the United States does an excellent job in biogas power generation, and South Korea follows American technology. It would be truly inspiring if China could develop such technology on its own. I have a friend who is working on a feasibility study project that relies on South Korean technology, but the reality is that the South Koreans translate the American materials from English into Korean, and then intermediary agencies translate those texts from Korean into Chinese.
