Maintenance of stationary and rotating equipment – both types of equipment are essential in factories. Which one is more important? And how should we handle them in our work?
Classifying equipment as dynamic or static doesn’t seem to be a very precise approach. Generally, dynamic equipment has a higher failure rate, so attention should be focused on addressing issues during regular maintenance; static equipment has a lower failure rate, and inspections and repairs are usually carried out after the installation is shut down
Static and dynamic equipment are integral components of machinery, and the two are closely connected. When it comes to the importance of maintenance, it is determined mainly by the function of the equipment and whether there are backups available. It is impossible to compare which type of equipment – static or dynamic – is more important; And as mentioned above, the distinction between the two is definitely not clear-cut.
It’s not correct to say that stationary equipment is more important; rather, it depends on its significance within the system. Comprehensive factors such as its value, the extent of the impact in case of a failure, the length of the repair time, and the associated costs need to be taken into account.
