Where are silicone rubber cables mainly used? What are their characteristics compared to cross-linked cables?
Silicone rubber cables use silicone rubber as the insulating or sheathing material. Thanks to the properties of silicone rubber such as heat resistance, cold resistance, flexibility, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, these cables maintain stable electrical performance in high-temperature environments, have excellent aging resistance, and a long service life. They are suitable for use in AC systems of 1 KV and below in mobile equipment such as vehicles, trolleys, and conveyor machines that require properties like tensile strength, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance, as well as for power transmission lines, control circuits, lighting systems, and communication lines. This product is widely used in industries such as metallurgy, power generation, chemicals, shipbuilding, and ports.
It is resistant to high temperatures, corrosion, and wear, but it is expensive; nonetheless, it is widely used in applications such as mobile cables for cranes.
