When collecting DCS data using real-time databases, we generally opt for the OPC interface, but in practice it always seems quite troublesome. How does everyone collect it? Could you share some experience?

The OPC interface software provided with many older models of DCS is not good; this is reflected in the fact that the amount of data that can be transmitted during communication cannot be too large, the speed is limited, and communication may sometimes be interrupted. Therefore, when making a choice, try to opt for the higher version of the OPC standard. The communication medium uses fiber optics, and the server configuration (especially the memory) must be high.
OPC has now become the standard interface for data acquisition; many real-time databases that were developed later generally only provide the OPC interface. In my opinion, custom-developed interfaces are more stable and efficient
