A 3-meter-long crack has appeared at the junction of the bulk benzene storage tank’s body and its roof; the gap is 20 cm wide. How should it be repaired, and what materials should be used for the repair?

The crude benzene storage tank is a major hazard in coking operations; a leak from it could result in severe casualties or environmental pollution! The only way to carry out a thorough repair is by welding: 1. Drain the crude benzene from the storage tank ； 2. Rinse with clean water at least 3 times ； 3. Open the top manhole, fill it with 1/5 water, and then heat it to a boil using steam ； 4. Repeat step 3 at least 5 times, then check with the instrument to confirm it is qualified ； 5. If there is also a crude benzene storage tank nearby, it must also be emptied and cleaned until it meets the required standards ； 6. For welding repairs, full penetration both on the inside and outside is required
