For the sodium hypochlorite reaction heat exchange in our plant’s sodium hypochlorite production process, titanium heat exchangers are used; however, rust spots were detected during operation. When seeking advice, is it due to improper selection of materials, poor quality of the materials, or incorrect usage? # ， ， &
Our factory uses enamel-lined reaction tanks for heat exchange; the reaction takes place simultaneously with heat exchange, and no heat exchangers are used. The jacket can be filled with water at 8°C or chilled brine, and using titanium heat exchangers would be somewhat wasteful.
Our factory uses titanium plate heat exchangers, with circulating water as the cooling medium. These exchangers have been in use for over a decade now, and there has been no signs of corrosion or internal leakage; their performance is excellent. The rust spots appearing in your factory may be due to quality issues with the titanium materials used in the equipment; it is also recommended to investigate possible causes by examining the operating conditions.
