Yellow phosphorus is a pale yellow, waxy, translucent solid. Highly toxic, extremely prone to oxidation, with a very low auto-ignition point; at room temperature it can ignite rapidly when exposed to air, producing toxic phosphorus pentoxide. To ensure the safe transportation of yellow phosphorus, it must be separated from air. Yellow phosphorus has the property of not reacting chemically with water; therefore, storing and transporting it submerged in water ensures its safety. If it is discovered during transportation that the packaging container is leaking, or that there is not enough water to submerge all of the yellow phosphorus, the leak should be sealed, the container replaced, more water added, or the entire barrel placed in a tank to prevent the yellow phosphorus from coming into contact with air, thereby ensuring safety.
Is there a more convenient way? For example, filling a sealed container with an inert protective gas! Using water always seems a bit mysterious :)
Flushing to protect the transportation of yellow phosphorus is the most economical and safest method; there is nothing more effective than this!
Agree with the guy on the fourth floor. Using water is still simpler and more feasible. It can be carried anywhere at any time; it uses nitrogen – who knows. If it gets leaked, they just run away. The consequences are severe.
