Your question is very good; the market for acid recycling will become booming in China in 5 years, but this technology is currently monopolized by foreign companies. I am familiar with DuPont’s patented alkylation technology (for the recycling of sulfuric acid), and it is currently in use in the Gulf of Mexico in the United States. Additionally, Mengshan also has similar technologies.
What I can tell you is that the technology we use is indeed a domestic patent… it’s a high-temperature cracking process for waste sulfuric acid, which allows us to purify waste sulfuric acid with a concentration of around 85% into acid with a concentration of 98%. The main difference between this method and the traditional method of producing acid from sulfur is the addition of a cracking stage; this is also a patented design by an engineering firm, and we paid eight million yuan to acquire it.:)
The best process is to crack the waste sulfuric acid; by cracking it into SO2 gas and then purifying, converting, and drying it, high-concentration finished acid can be obtained. The following methods can also be employed: 1. Concentration method: In this method, during the heating and concentration of waste dilute sulfuric acid, the organic substances contained within undergo reactions such as oxidation and polymerization, turning into dark-colored gelatinous substances or suspensions which are then filtered out. This approach achieves both the purpose of removing impurities and concentrating the dilute sulfuric acid. 1) High-temperature concentration method 2) Low-temperature concentration method 2. Oxidation method: Oxidizing agents are used under appropriate conditions to oxidize and decompose the organic impurities in waste sulfuric acid, converting them into carbon dioxide, water, nitrogen oxides, etc., which are then separated from the sulfuric acid, thereby purifying and recovering the waste sulfuric acid. 3. Extraction method: The extraction method involves bringing an organic solvent into full contact with waste sulfuric acid, so that the impurities in the waste acid are transferred into the solvent. 4. Crystallization method: When waste sulfuric acid contains large amounts of organic or inorganic impurities, the crystallization precipitation method can be considered, depending on the properties of these impurities, to remove them.
