The second unit at the Jiujiang branch, with a capacity of 1 MT/a for heavy oil catalytic cracking, was designed by Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Company, using RIPP’s MIP-CGP technology. A specialized catalyst is used, and due to the high number of catalyst grades available, its specific consumption is higher than that in conventional FCC units. Total liquid yield: 82-84%, conversion rate: 74-79%, propylene yield: 8-9%.
Our factory uses fresh catalysts while also purchasing large quantities of balancing agents. When there are significant changes in the properties of the raw materials or when the catalyst becomes severely poisoned, we use large amounts of balancing agents for replacement, and this approach yields very good results. It is recommended that companies whose catalytic raw materials have unstable properties keep some balancing agents on hand, as this can be very useful in dealing with special situations.
