How are 2 centrifugal pumps in a continuous unit switched over?

I’m a beginner. Recently, someone asked me about how to switch between two centrifugal pumps in sequence (when Pump A needs to be repaired while it’s in operation, Pump B needs to take over). I said to first open the inlet valve of Pump B, start the pump, and wait until the pressure stabilizes before opening the outlet valve of Pump B. Then, close the outlet valve of Pump A, stop the pump, close its inlet valve, empty Pump A, purge it with nitrogen, and then disassemble the pump. I’m not sure if what I said is correct; please advise me, experienced colleagues
That’s good, it works. However, if high flow stability is required, two people can operate simultaneously: one can open the outlet of pump B while the other closes the outlet of pump A. :handshake
