Question: For sulfur granulation technology, which is better – the drum granulator or the belt granulator?
There is no doubt that the CF series rotary belt condensation granulator should be chosen; with a drum that only has flake formations, it is difficult to achieve granulation.
It depends on your requirements. If you need flakes, a drum dryer should be used; for steel strips, granular sulfur with a diameter of 2–3 mm can be produced, and the shaping quality is quite good.

Sulfur granulation release agent is a non-ionic emulsion liquid composed of a polymer based on methylsilane, combined with surfactants. Uniform and fine in texture, dissolves immediately upon contact with water, and disperses quickly. It possesses the physiological inertness of silicone, is non-toxic, resistant to high temperatures without carbonization, has low surface tension, is antioxidant, does not cause corrosion, requires a small amount to be used, is non-toxic to humans, and causes no environmental pollution. Therefore, it is an ideal, excellent, environmentally friendly, and new type of high-efficiency release agent that cannot be replaced by any other materials. It is widely applicable to demolding in the granulation of compound fertilizers and sulfur, demolding in paraffin granulation and petroleum resin granulation, as well as demolding in the granulation of various chemical raw materials, and also to the shaping and demolding of hydrogenated oil residues. It can adhere well to stainless steel strips, forming a barrier film between the strips and the product.
It seems that several refining and chemical plants have adopted drum granulators recently; there are those from Sanpu as well as those from Canada – it’s worth looking into
