Our factory has increased the dry point of gasoline as required by management. However, the refined diesel exhibits severe sedimentation issues after being treated with alkali and water for washing. Is there any connection between these two phenomena? Is it caused by the increase in the dry point? How can this problem be solved? We urgently need a solution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, it cannot be ruled out that an increase in the dry point of gasoline leads to an increase in the concentration of oxygenated compounds in diesel, which in turn results in an increase in acidic substances and thus a poor alkaline washing effect.
It should be related. Petrolic acid is generally present in diesel and other heavier fractioned oils. When the dry point of gasoline increases, the lighter components from the diesel fraction end up in the gasoline, resulting in a decrease in diesel content and an increase in its acidity. Such diesel is prone to emulsification during alkaline or water washing, which in turn leads to the formation of sludge. The operating parameters must be adjusted in a timely manner.
It is recommended to use a high-concentration complexing alkaline solution, as this prevents emulsification and results in a fast settling speed.
