Now the salaries of the technical team members have been canceled, and it seems that the evaluations have also come to a halt. I think there should be records of the work performance of team members; perhaps when someone is to be promoted, the administrator will review that member’s overall performance as a basis for making a decision. However, for most team members, it is necessary to know their own and other members’ monthly performance in order to identify gaps and improve themselves. At the very least, one can send a copy of one’s own evaluation results to the team members on a monthly basis. Otherwise, an unrestrained and disorderly approach is not conducive to the overall progress of the team members. Besides, those who don’t perform well should be removed from their positions; we can’t treat team members as having secure jobs for life !
Now everything is shifting towards quarterly assessments, with an even greater tendency toward monthly evaluations – is a year not too long?
As for whether an evaluation will be conducted, I believe the moderators and super moderators of each section are aware of this, as are the active members in those sections. The selection of the 10 most outstanding figures of 2007 is proof of this. If each team member fails to do a good job and fail to get more people to know about it, it will soon be forgotten. If there is a need for evaluations to impose constraints, it’s only for the sake of salary; without that salary, people won’t work, so it’s better to abolish such evaluations. Currently, the forum does not have a cancellation mechanism. For the lagging aspects, there will be corresponding measures when constraints arise in the future.
