How is the through-column design maintained in industrial furnace design to ensure ventilation? :)
If there is no ventilation, even though the columns have fire-resistant protection on the outside, it’s as if they don’t have any such protection at all. The temperature inside the furnace is what it is, and the columns reach that same temperature; as a result, they collapse very quickly.
In recent years, there has been a trend toward using through-type supports for furnace tubes in industrial furnaces; that is, tubes are used as supports, with natural ventilation enabling cooling, which results in a longer service life. This post was last edited by *ngefei on 2008-3-1 13:56]
The design and operation of the through-column require consideration of two key elements: Design: The openings for ventilation at the top and bottom must be large enough, and the insulation layer inside the furnace must be effective and reliable. Operation: It is necessary to ensure that the ventilation openings remain unobstructed, and the insulation layer inside the furnace should be replaced regularly. I have monitored the temperature of the through-column in delayed coking furnaces during operation; it remained around 150–180 degrees during operation. I have also encountered cases where the ventilation openings were not opened during installation, and the furnace continued to operate for several years – fortunately, no adverse consequences occurred
If it is for design purposes, this situation should be avoided unless structural adjustments are not possible; after all, it cannot be guaranteed that the lining will always remain problem-free.
