We are a social practice team from Dalian University of Technology during the holidays, focusing on \"computer simulation in chemical engineering\". Through relentless efforts by our team, and by using the computer software MATLAB, we have obtained numerical analysis results regarding the optimization and control of various chemical processes. Once our report is ready, it will be uploaded to this post. This is our first time carrying out such an activity; please point out any mistakes, and we welcome all valuable suggestions from everyone. Uploading is welcome. Everyone has experienced their student days; looking at your reports can help you recall those times. There are many cases in schools where things are not based on reality. Last year, I reviewed the heat balance analysis of a heating furnace developed by your school (which was done at cost), and the data contained serious errors. The person who prepared the report didn’t check it carefully enough and wasn’t even aware of the mistakes. I tried to use that report as a reference, and only then did I realize just how severe the errors were. I wonder what your optimization methods and goals are? I have some experience with simulation and am also quite interested in it.
We mainly use MATLAB for programming; haha, it’s primarily used to find the optimal values for certain data presented in textbooks on physical chemistry and chemical engineering principles – some of which are even empirical values. By using computational methods, we can obtain these optimal values, and then use them to supplement and complete those numerical results that are not available in some textbooks. There is also optimization of certain processes in chemical processes and process control; in addition, we invited students from the School of Architecture and Art to perform linear fitting using engineering drawing methods. It would be better to upload it along with your report before posting, as that will make things clearer; the current approach seems a bit misleading.
I strongly recommend that you learn grammar, or have your written work carefully checked for grammar errors. After reading what you said, I still don’t know what you want to optimize. I suspect you don’t know what optimization is. Optimization involves adjusting the variables that affect a target under certain constraints, in order to achieve the most ideal outcome (minimum deviation, maximum efficiency, minimal fluctuations, closest match to reality – any of these can serve as goals). I asked you about the methods and goals of optimization, but you failed to answer either one. Do you even need to find someone for linear regression? MATLAB has excellent regression functions. If there are any special algorithms in engineering drawing, they can also be implemented using Matlab. I suggest you first figure out what you want to do, what method you intend to use, whether that method is reasonable, whether it can be accomplished within your capabilities, and what the significance of achieving it would be. Figure out these things first before thinking about optimization; optimization isn’t something that can be achieved just by talking about it.
It seems that MATLAB is used to calculate certain values or formulas in the textbook, in order to make them more reasonable. It’s not the kind of optimization we usually talk about for chemical production facilities.
