Reprinted from China Bioenergy Network (http://www.bioenergy.cn): In 1998, Jilin Province sent personnel to Europe to study biomass pellet compression technology and equipment, and eventually imported a set of corn straw compression equipment from Denmark. This set of equipment can separate the husk, leaves, and core of corn straw, crush them, and compress them into shapes. Extrusion equipment is a motor-driven piston-type molding machine. The entire set of equipment is installed in a factory building that is 50m long and 12m wide in Longjiabao Town, Jilin Province. Currently, Jilin HuanTai Industrial Co., Ltd. is building on this factory to expand its production scale and extend its operations to places such as Dehui and Gongzhuling; its development prospects are favorable. Sansheng Group has made significant progress in the development and utilization of straw; its technical capabilities, production scale, as well as the quality and quantity of its products and sales performance place it at the forefront in the country. Now, the group has established production bases in provinces such as Hebei, Jilin, and Anhui. It can not only compress corn straw into briquetted fuel or use it as feed, but also produce lawn planting strips from corn straw, while further exploring application technologies such as straw organic fertilizer. The products not only meet domestic demand but are also exported to countries such as Japan and Egypt. The corn straw compression molding equipment of Sansheng Group is a set of complete products that have been developed through in-depth research, based on the adoption of advanced foreign technologies. It can produce both high-density fuel blocks (around 0.9 g/cm3) and medium-density feed blocks (0.5–0.6 g/cm3) by adjusting the dimensions and pressure of the molding die. The two molding materials undergo different pretreatments before extrusion molding. Mechanical transmission and piston extrusion molding technology are used, with the piston moving back and forth 20 times per minute. The corn straw processing and shaping equipment of Sansheng Group can achieve a production capacity of 2–2.5 t/h when manufacturing high-density corn straw feed pellets.
