I would like to ask the experts: What kind of instrument is suitable for measuring the level of material in a lime powder silo? Our factory uses radar level gauges for this purpose, but the probes get covered with too much dust, which makes them impractical. I sincerely seek guidance from the experts!
If it’s only necessary to detect empty or full positions, a tuning fork can be used – it’s cheap and simple

Place a transparent plastic bag over the probe and replace it regularly; use a cleaning solution for the radar as well – simple and practical!
I have been using the weight-type level gauges from UWT and E+H in Germany for two years now, and they require almost no maintenance
Ultrasonic level gauges should work fine; you can also try infrared level gauges, which have strong interference resistance and a large measurement range!
