How is the configuration interface designed, and how are things like the color scheme and sub-items determined? What is the basic approach to the design? Let’s share our experiences.
To briefly share my experience: 1. Determine the resolution of the image, ensuring it meets the specifications of the monitor and the requirements of the configuration software. 2. Please have the process engineering team provide a draft of the process flow showing the locations of the measurement and control points; it is preferable if it is in color or indicates the colors of the equipment and pipelines in the diagram. 3. Determine the background color of the image. Generally, we use dark gray or light gray to avoid visual fatigue for the operators. 4. Determine the font, size, color, and style of various text elements in the image, ensuring that texts of the same type are consistent. 5. Determine the thickness, color, and style of various lines and pipes in the image, striving to keep those of the same type consistent. 6. Use warning colors such as red and yellow as little as possible in the display, to avoid affecting the effectiveness of alarm and interlock alerts; also avoid overusing bright colors. 7. Use animation functions as little as possible in the display to reduce the strain on the operating station’s system resources. 8. The image should not fill the entire frame; there should be some space around the edges. To make the image look beautiful. 9. If necessary, additional connection buttons for screen transitions and page flips can be added.
