I have a question: What is the next process step?
After dechlorination of the brackish water in the dechlorination tower using air blowing or vacuum dechlorination, sulfite is added to remove any remaining trace amounts of free chlorine.
The brackish water after chlorination removal (after vacuum and chemical removal) is made acidic by adding acid, with trace amounts of free chlorine present in the buffer tank. What is the reason for this?
Could it be that the chemical dechlorination wasn’t thorough enough? Was the amount of sodium sulfite added insufficient, was the pH not adjusted properly when adding sodium sulfite, or was the mixing uneven, resulting in residual chlorine from vacuum dechlorination not being removed? It’s hard to think of any other reasons.
Is there an internal leak in the dechlorinated brine tank, has it become contaminated? In which step was this detected?
I think it’s possible that insufficient amount of alkali was added during chemical dechlorination! It is recommended that you install a titanium mixer in the pipeline after adding alkali and sodium sulfite, and also calibrate the pH meter!
