That’s why each PET bottle has an injection port at its bottom; you can see this by taking one and looking at it. PVC is molded by blow molding, without the need for injection molding, so it has no injection port. So, a bottle with a filling port is PET, while one without it is PVC. In the case of mass production, the bottles are steamed; PVC becomes opaque under the effect of high-temperature steam, while PET remains transparent. This makes sorting easier and more straightforward. Additionally, the adhesive on the labels separates itself automatically after steaming, and it can be removed by gently peeling it off with your hand. The pieces of plastic in the bottles are not easy to identify; therefore, they have to be boiled in water or steamed. After being boiled in water or steamed, PVC becomes opaque, while PET remains transparent. By removing the opaque pieces, the PET material that remains is pure.
