There is an 114 external gas transmission pipeline (associated gas from oil fields) with a length of 12.8 km. Hydrate buildup in the pipeline results in a maximum current gas transmission rate of 2000 m3/d, with a pressure of 0.25 MPa (gauge) at the starting point and 0.04 MPa (gauge) at the ending point. Since there is no compressor at the starting point, the pressure there cannot exceed 0.25 MPa. Is this pressure sufficient for using pigging to clean the pipeline?
The high-pressure nitrogen emitted by a nitrogen compressor can be used as a driving force for pigging.
