I am currently writing a paper on coke passivation. I would like to ask you guys for advice, what information should I read? I would be very grateful!
There is a lot of information on experimental research on coke passivation. The purpose of coke passivation is to effectively improve its thermal performance through the action of coke quenching passivation agent. Materials suitable for preparing coke quenching passivating agents are mainly boron compounds. Some of my test conclusions are pasted below. (1) Use passivation agent to control the reactivity of coke, improve thermal intensity, the process is simple and reliable, and the operability is good. (2) The passivation treatment of coke has obvious effects on reducing the reactivity at 1000°C and increasing the strength after reaction at this temperature. For example, if the soft melting zone of the blast furnace is around 1000°C, the passivation treatment of the coke will play a good role in improving the permeability of the massive zone, increasing the utilization rate of chemical energy of the gas, and promoting the forward movement of the blast furnace, thereby increasing iron and saving coke. (3) It is recommended to reduce the reactivity of coke at 1000°C to less than 30% and increase the post-reaction strength to about 45%. In this way, the amount of passivating agent can be 0.5%, which can reduce processing costs and the thermal performance of coke can also meet the requirements. (4) Spraying, soaking and coke quenching can all be used to reduce reactivity, but coke quenching has better operability and better effects. The main problem is the high cost of passivation agent (7500 yuan/ton). It is recommended to investigate the market situation of passivating agents and see if you can find substitutes or produce them yourself. This process can only be implemented if the cost reduction is affordable.
