This is possible – just close off the front and rear sections of the control valve, so that the system operates via a bypass. Of course, ammonia is toxic and harmful, and it’s irritating; it can even make it difficult to keep one’s eyes open. During the valve replacement process, the staff wore air respirators, and while using them they checked to ensure that the equipment was functional.
