I have been working on a project recently that involves using soda ash, produced as a by-product of AC blowing agents, to react with sodium fluosilicate in order to produce sodium fluoride, with precipitated silica as a by-product. After the reaction takes place, sodium fluoride crystals with a higher density, silica crystals with a lower density, and water are formed; all of these substances need to be separated. In industrial production, this separation must be carried out continuously, which requires a solid-solid-liquid triphase separator that can meet the requirements for such separation. I would like to ask whether there are any similar solid-solid-liquid three-phase separators available on the market that can basically meet such separation requirements Are there any materials that can be developed and studied on one’s own, or that can be used as a reference? Can an excess of alkali be used to dissolve silica, thereby separating sodium fluoride, and then the pH can be adjusted to precipitate the silica?
Generally, alkali metal oxides (hydroxides) are used as stabilizers at pH 9.5–11.5 to form silica sols.
If the phase transformation method is not considered, a hydrocyclone can be used for fractional separation; you can consult some manufacturers for more information.
