For the \"spherical head made of 2 1/4Cr-1Mo material welded from 2 plates\", why is it necessary to remove all the weld metal from the weld seam before proceeding with welding? Is this due to structural reasons or does it affect the strength parameters?:)
Is your manufacturing process hot-press molding? If it is hot-press forming, then it is the heat pressing that causes a decrease in the strength of the welded joint, resulting in it not meeting the original specifications; therefore, re-welding is necessary. To avoid this process, high-matching welding materials can be chosen. I think it’s mainly the strength factor; of course, the decrease in strength is caused by tissue changes.
