We are preparing to install a set of acid production facilities using 400,000 tons of pyrite, and the technical plan is still to be determined. I’m asking everyone to provide information on design and equipment manufacturing companies; please help. My email is wuhuajinghua@163.com
I recommend a system configuration with two ends and one middle section; for example, at the Luzhai plant, a 400,000-ton boiling furnace is likely to encounter many problems.

Guizhou Wengfu has two sulfuric acid production plants with a capacity of 400,000 tons per year each; they are both of the end-to-end type and are operating quite well. I heard that it’s the ones from Luzhai that have problems with their blooming.

Guizhou Wengfu has an acid production capacity of 800,000 tons per year from pyrite, achieved through the parallel operation of two units, each with a capacity of 400,000 tons per year (one at each end). It was designed by Donghua Institute (formerly the Third Chemical Research Institute), and it has performed well, passing the performance assessments. Wengfu is short of acid; sulfur is relatively cheap. In previous years, sulfur was mixed in during production, with each production batch reaching 500,000 tons. Together with the 200,000 tons of sulfur used for acid production under the overall management of Donghua Institute, the total production capacity exceeds 1.2 million tons. For a project of 400,000 tons, I recommend hiring foreign firms to carry out the preliminary design, while Nanjing Chemical Research Institute or Donghua Research Institute can handle the detailed design
I’m from Nanhua Institute. Whether it’s two ends and one middle or one end and one middle depends on the specific characteristics of the raw materials. Different minerals require different furnaces; don’t act on hearsay – if you don’t understand the details, you might get deceived

Latest news: Tongguan Smelting & Chemical also operates a plant for producing sulfuric acid from pyrite at a capacity of 400,000 tons per year (using pure pyrite); it is performing quite well.
