What material is most suitable for the outlet pipeline of the small nitrogen fertilizer high-temperature conversion furnace? The operating temperature for export is 430-450 degrees Celsius. Will using 16MnR plate to make pipes result in overheating? We are currently using 304 material, and wire rod type 102 is employed. According to the specifications, the operating temperature for wire rod type 102 should not exceed 300 degrees Celsius, but the current operating temperature is well above 300 degrees Celsius. Is 1Cr18Ni9Ti a suitable choice?

It is recommended to use chromium-molybdenum alloy steel; of course, stainless steels such as 1Cr18Ni9Ti can also be used, although the cost is relatively higher. As for welding materials, they must be welded in accordance with the specified welding procedures; it’s unclear how 16Mn material can be welded using A102. For stainless steel, A102 should not be used for welding at high temperatures.
CrMo steel is better for use under high temperature and high pressure conditions; we use this material here
I just want to use 16Mn material, fearing overheating. It was originally made of 304 (0Cr18Ni9) material, and the welding rod used was A102; the 16Mn material was not used, with A102 welding rods instead. Alloy steel materials are the most suitable choice, but the procurement time is too long, making it impractical to use them for this maintenance replacement.
Using 16MnR sheet to form tubes at high temperatures is definitely not appropriate! High-temperature resistant steel such as CrMo steel should be used.
Choosing 16MnR material should be sufficient to meet the requirements for moderate outlet temperatures; this is what our factory does. If you are concerned, you can choose the 15CrMoV high-temperature alloy steel. But we do not approve of using 18-8 material, as it is rather wasteful.
We are also using 16Mn plate to make pipes. Is there nothing?
Is the pressure difference lower on the 7th and 8th floors? 0.8MPa?
Our factory uses a medium-low-low process, with a shift pressure of 1.4 MPa. The outlet temperature of the medium-transformer furnace is around 400. The temperature control is 470°C in stage one and 400°C in stage two.
