How are emergency ammonia leaks generally set up? I now have two options: absorb the ammonia discharged with water or recycle it through the condenser. Which square ammonia is better?
The water absorption investment is small, the installation is simple, and the troubleshooting speed is fast, but the product is ammonia water. Materials can be recovered through condensation recovery, but the equipment investment is large, the process is complex, and the accident handling speed is slightly slower. Personally, I prefer to use water for absorption. The reason is the same as above. Another reason is that the chance of a malfunction requiring emergency ammonia removal is too small. I may not have a chance to use this device when I retire. :lol
In 2004, our company made an emergency ammonia drain according to the drawings, and connected it to the outlet of the ammonia vent pipe. Basically, there is no emergency. Sometimes it is used occasionally when the ammonia is vented, but the time is very short, otherwise there will be too much ammonia and it will be difficult to deal with. If your company does a good job in safety production, then use a low-cost emergency ammonia leaker. ; if. . . Or if you really want to recover ammonia, use a condenser.
It is simpler and more reliable to absorb it with water. As for ammonia water, it can be discharged to an ammonia water tank or an accident tank. Every nitrogen fertilizer plant should have this, right?
If water is absorbed to produce a large amount of ammonia, the ammonia will be mixed with other materials. The ammonia is useless to me and will be troublesome to handle.
Is the emergency ammonia leakage activated by overpressure or the ammonia tank leakage alarm interlock activation? ?
Emergency ammonia discharger, the first time I came across this concept, I looked up the relevant information. It means that the ammonia in the storage tank is discharged in case of failure. During the discharge process, it is mixed with water to dilute the ammonia and turn into dilute alkali liquid. Is this what it means?
I don’t know if the poster’s emergency ammonia removal device is a safety valve or a vent valve. If it is vented directly or absorbed with water, it will probably be rarely used.
