Discussion topics on the dimethyl ether issue

In the area dedicated to discussions on methanol and its downstream products, dimethyl ether is the most frequently discussed topic; however, in many of those discussions, what was actually debated for a long time wasn’t really a separate topic at all. For example, JiuTai’s dimethyl ether production technology relies on a two-step liquid-phase process, while most other methods in China use a two-step gas-phase process; there is also a one-step process, but it has not yet been put into regular industrial use in China. ——Many times, different problems are mixed together. I hope everyone will share their opinions.
Many so-called one-step processes are actually two-step processes; a true one-step process likely does not yet exist in industrial form. In my opinion, the two-step process is quite simple anyway, while more advanced uses of dimethyl ether deserve more attention. At present, it is used in many cases for gas supply (in areas where natural gas is scarce), but how much is it used as fuel for internal combustion engines? ? I’m afraid……
