Hello, everyone! I am currently performing simulation calculations for a pyrolysis furnace, but I am unable to obtain reasonable results when calculating the flue gas temperature at the exit of the radiation section. Has anyone with experience done such calculations? I would appreciate some guidance! Thank you
It would be very helpful to read more examples of calculations related to the design of chemical industry furnaces; these are available for download on the forum. To determine the exhaust gas temperature at the exit of the radiation section, one first needs to establish the air excess factor of the furnace, and then carry out the calculations: assuming an excess factor of 1.15, V_flue_gas = 11.72 B, and the required amount of air is 10.82 B. CpT = [ (Q_d * B + heat generated by preheating the air + heat generated by preheating the fuel gas) – Q_loss ] / V_flue_gas. Here, Q_d represents the lower calorific value of the fuel gas, B is the volume of fuel gas used; heat losses are generally taken as 1-3% of the calorific value. Once the CpT value is obtained, reference can be made to tables for heat transfer calculations in order to determine the exact maximum temperature T, as well as the Cp value. Then, using the methods for designing chemical industry furnaces, the temperature difference can be calculated; the exit temperature of the radiation chamber is obtained by subtracting this calculated temperature difference from the maximum temperature, with minimal error.
