I used to work in atmospheric and vacuum distillation processes. Electrodesalination generally involves the operation of \"one removal and four injections\": removing water from the mixture, and injecting demulsifiers, alkali, corrosion inhibitors, and water. The key is to control the oil-water interface, which is usually located between the first and second sampling ports. It’s also important to pay attention to the level of current; if the current is high but the amount of water removed is low, it’s because the oil and water cannot be separated properly. In such cases, it’s necessary to monitor fluctuations in the subsequent system and enhance the dehydration process in the reflux tank. Water is also regularly injected to flush the lower part of the electrodialysis tank.
