I studied chemical engineering machinery, but by chance I ended up working in interior design. After completing a few projects, I felt that the industry wasn’t very promising, so now I want to return to working in chemical engineering machinery. I previously worked in construction for three years and in design for two years; my work in construction involved pipeline installation on site, while my design work entailed designing industrial furnaces. I received an interview offer from an engineering and technology company for a position in mechanical drafting. Upon checking their website, I saw that they mainly work on instrumentation; I’m not sure why an instrumentation company would need someone who specializes in drafting. If any of you who are currently working in this field can explain this to me, I’d be very grateful. Thank you all!

Your career change is way too drastic; instrumentation and mechanical drawing should require more precision, right?
For that company, the layout drawings of instruments mainly involve drawing work.
I also think interior design has more prospects
