I am currently working on a design plan for flue gas treatment, but due to the extremely high temperature of the flue gas (around 220 degrees), there is severe acidic corrosion. It’s difficult to work with materials; could some expert give me some advice?
Ceramic-lined carbon steel pipes, or carbon steel coated with fire-resistant and corrosion-resistant coatings; if one has the means, Ti can also be used
It has a stainless steel casing with a 20mm thick marble lining. We have manufactured many desulfurization and purification devices capable of withstanding temperatures up to 350 degrees; however, it’s advisable to install a heat exchanger at the inlet side, which can reduce the temperature by around 30-50 degrees!
They refuse to install a heat exchanger at the front; do you think adding a water injection device at the inlet could help reduce the temperature?
Oh right, I just asked a company about manufacturing steel-lined PTFE products; it’s extremely expensive – they charged me 8,000 per square meter
Can’t the temperature be lowered first using a absorption device?
I have new materials that are resistant to high temperatures and acids and alkalis, and they’re not expensive either
Using marble is also an option; however, the adhesive cannot withstand such high temperatures, so it’s still necessary to use water to cool things down. Marble is resistant to both acids and alkalis, and it’s not expensive either.
The temperature can be reduced first – by installing a few nozzles, the temperature can be lowered. If there is no water available in the subsequent devices, the principle of evaporation through spraying can be used to reduce the temperature; in that case, dual-fluid atomizing nozzles will be necessary
As long as operations are not carried out below the dew point, it’s not a problem; the flue gases generated in fiberglass furnace production also contain HF, which is even more corrosive than HCl. Ordinary carbon steel combined with anti-corrosion coatings is sufficient for use in such situations. If it is below the dew point temperature – and it is already below that temperature – cooling it with water makes things easier to handle.
