This post was last edited by DAC The army rules the world on 2009-5-7 at 11:49. After the renovation of our plant, the double-acting slide valves stopped working properly after just one month of operation; often, one of the valves would fail to function.
Possible problems: 1. Valve stem detachment. 2. Debris such as linings stuck inside the valve passage. 3. Issues with the actuator. 4. Whether the power oil pressure is normal. 5. Problems with the mechanical and instrument limits of the double-acting slide valve during maintenance
Just one month after the renovation, key inspections are carried out on the actuator and instrument control systems to check for any issues.
All of the above issues are things we can rule out. I just want to discuss whether there are any other possibilities?
I think it’s most likely that there is something stuck inside the slide valve, but the original poster claims that all of the above possibilities can be ruled out, and they reject all the explanations given by the person in the second comment – which is quite strange. It would be easier to analyze things if there was a clearer description of where your double-acting spool valve can be used and what the medium is.
It’s quite rare for such an important valve to stop functioning just one month after maintenance; problems with the lining or the actuator can basically be ruled out. It’s likely that large fluctuations in air volume and temperature are to blame, along with the fact that the valve hasn’t been operating properly
If there is no problem with the double-acting spool actuator, it is recommended that the poster check the valve sleeve purging air system, as there is a suspicion of intermittent blockage by debris.
It is also highly likely that scaling inside the valve channel causes sticking, which is related to catalyst screening; the more fine particles there are, the higher the solid content in the flue gas. It is also related to the flue gas temperature; it should not be too low.
Is it related to the pressure-reducing orifice plate? During normal operation, the adjustment range of the double-acting slide valve is relatively small, with adjustments being made only in slight amounts. If fine catalyst powder leaks severely, it can easily block the valve passages and cause sintering.
