I’ve never understood what a duct is used for. I work with piping for oil and gas recovery systems, and it seems like such ducts aren’t necessary. Thank you everyone

Can a pipe corridor be understood as simply a hallway? Seeking advice from professionals! :)
No. Pipe galleries are provided for laying pipes and electrical and instrumentation trays. Corridors are designed for people to walk through.
A pipe rack is used to support pipes, instruments, and electrical wires. It’s a bracket. The corridor is clearly meant for walking, with a surface on the floor

How could a pipe corridor be considered a hallway? Pipes and hallways would be in complete chaos if that were the case! A pipe corridor is actually just a support structure for pipes.
As long as there is enough clearance and width, it can certainly be used as a passage.
Corridors are usually on the ground, while ductwork is typically in the air. Corridors are for people to walk in, whereas ductwork is used to carry pipelines. There are also corridors that are in the air; generally, devices are installed above the ductwork, and corridors help prevent people from stepping on the pipelines while walking on them
