My certificate as a Senior Engineer in Physical and Remote Sensing (Geochemistry) was issued in 2012; the evaluation forms are still available and can be checked online. However, the certificate got damaged accidentally, so I went to get a new one at the end of 2016. The issue date on the new certificate is listed as December 2016. Someone suggested that I use my old certificate, but they said that the duration of time since its issuance wasn’t sufficient and it couldn’t be accepted – a certificate must have been issued before 2013. First of all, I don’t understand why such a requirement exists; having the certificate itself should be enough. Secondly, logically speaking, my certificate was also issued in 2012, which meets the requirements. If I get a new certificate, will it be considered as 16 years of evaluation? Can’t it be used then?
