Graduation, working, changing jobs

I graduated from a university in Shaanxi in 2011, majoring in applied chemistry. After graduation, I started working at a new project for coal-to-methanol production in Ningxia. Since I had no work experience at that time, I was assigned to tasks related to methanol synthesis and distillation. At the company, I studied carefully the basic operations of the equipment, the production processes, and how to handle common accidents. The industry in which we work features high employee turnover; after working for 4 months, employees with more experience would switch to jobs at central state-owned enterprises located not far from our company. State-owned and central state-owned enterprises offer better benefits and better job opportunities, and people strive to move to such places in order to achieve better career prospects. The veteran employees left, and as a new employee I took on the responsibility of being the chief operator. I was promoted to that role, and of course I was happy about that, but I was also nervous due to the high-risk nature of this chemical industry. My supervisors often told me not to worry too much, that as long as I followed the procedures carefully, everything could be avoided. In 2012, due to the relatively poor working conditions at my previous employer, as well as the frequent safety incidents there which caused panic among the staff, I decided to change jobs and move to a methanol production facility in Inner Mongolia. It was closer to home, offered better compensation, and provided more opportunities for learning while operating the equipment. I was involved in processes such as purging the facility, conducting airtightness tests, carrying out individual tests on the equipment, and reducing the catalysts used in methanol production. However, the facility faced significant problems with equipment procurement; in an effort to save money, the operation of the facility was not optimal. While at work, I realized that the Haichuan Forum was an excellent learning platform, so I registered for it. I actively participated in discussions there, answering others’ questions, and also raised many issues I encountered at work that I couldn’t solve on my own. I received recognition from many forum members, as well as their help. During the communication, the leaders of Haichuan Forum noticed my enthusiasm and recommended me as a moderator. In May 2013, I became an experimental moderator on the Haichuan Forum, and in August 2013 I was promoted to a full-time moderator. On the Haichuan platform, I acquired a great deal of knowledge and met many friends. I am currently the moderator of the Ren Haichuan Chemical Theory Area and the Comprehensive Calculation Software Exchange Version. I am striving to manage my area well; if there are any issues during this process, I ask all fellow users to be understanding and patient, or to offer me some good suggestions.
