The deals that have already been confirmed are as follows: 1) The Celtics and 76ers exchange draft picks; thereby, the 76ers get the top pick and can assemble a strong team, while the Celtics receive plenty of draft picks that they can use to make significant moves. 2) The Lakers trade Russell and Mozgov for Lopez from the Nets. I give the Lakers props for getting rid of Mozgov, as this will help them sign George next year. Moreover, Lopez is a valuable player. Of course, the Lakers might make further deals, and Kobe’s future still looks promising. The Nets have begun rebuilding. 3) The Eagles traded Howard to the Hornets; the Hornets acquired their former top center for just a bunch of minor assets, thus securing an improvement to their front line. The Sparks need not be disheartened – heroes may decline in age, but there’s always a way around things.
