Hello everyone. My name is Xu Weili, and I’m from Tianjin. I’m a full-time housewife; a few years ago, I worked as a professional product designer. My husband is a technical officer of the ninth rank in a chemical company. When we were dating, we realized that we shared many interests – for example, he doesn’t like smoking or drinking; he’s quite quiet, loves plants, and has a more scholarly temperament. It was precisely because of our natural affection for plants that we ended up having this lovely garden. In the years after getting married, we were busy with our careers, and our goal was to own our own small villa. In 2006, through our joint efforts and by borrowing money from relatives and friends, we finally managed to buy a separate house in the suburbs. At that time, the price of houses in the suburbs was over 5,000 yuan, and our monthly mortgage payment was nearly 3,000 yuan. To be honest, we took a big risk, as our biggest goal in life was to have our own small villa. For that reason, my husband and I didn’t have children for several years, and our daily expenses were no more than 5 yuan. Thankfully, we were lucky: on one hand, housing prices rose, but we had already bought the house; on the other hand, our salaries increased significantly. My husband’s salary as a technical specialist reached over 10,000 yuan per month, and after covering the mortgage, there was still enough money for the needs of our family of four. So I decided to quit my job and stay at home to take care of the household and raise our children. Three years ago, while looking at the scenery with our newborn baby on the rooftop, we had an idea: why not build a garden there? After all, I’m a designer! So we made up our minds to do it. Sometimes it’s necessary to be a bit reckless, just like when we bought the house. Building a garden requires careful planning – first, there are the design drawings, which involve measurements and subsequent design work. Hundreds of drawings were created, with the help of my best friend’s professional guidance (who is also one of my creditors, as mentioned later). After the design was finalized, it was time to start construction: hiring workers, carrying out waterproofing work, and building a water reservoir. My friend and I handled every step personally, patiently explaining things to the workers. The entire project took three months, during which we created a fish pond, a pavilion, lawn areas, fruit tree areas, flower beds, and more. Unexpectedly, a lot of money was spent, and we even ended up in debt. Every time my husband came back, he would just smile at us – of course, that smile contained encouragement, blessings, and expectations. After the garden was built, it was time to plant trees and choose suitable fruit varieties. We also had to fertilize and water the plants. Due to the rooftop location and thin soil layer, frequent fertilization was needed during the summer. At first, the garden looked messy, as the vegetation hadn’t yet fully grown, and it was winter as well. The garden seemed very lonely. Of course, I forgot to take photos at that time. The entire project cost over 150,000 yuan. My best friend helped with the design and also lent me most of the money needed to complete this project. For us, who don’t have many friends, she was like a sister – we shared clothes and everything new right away. We talked about celebrities, complained about problems, discussed food, and traded stocks. Recently, we became interested in gold trading, which was introduced to us by my husband’s close friend. He advised us to give up stocks, saying that gold trading was much more reliable – you could make money whether prices went up or down. You can invest any amount of money, with no limits, unlike stocks, where small investments mean you’re considered a retail investor and are prone to losses. Gold trading is perfect for people like us who stay at home. I started with an investment of over 30,000 yuan, and within a year, it grew to over 220,000 yuan. Of course, I also got help from my mentors, as well as friends like President Xu, Sister Mei, and Brother Li. It’s really good to make more friends in this world. If you’re interested, you can add my mentor’s WeChat: koyo-yanghui. It’s not as risky as trading stocks. It may not be suitable for everyone, but it’s nice to learn about new things. The important thing is to meet sincere friends. Thanks to my careful care, all the plants are now blooming beautifully. My husband no longer stays in the room when he gets home; instead, he goes straight to the rooftop. Our son and daughter also enjoy playing on the rooftop. Friends, relatives, and colleagues who come to visit us also go to the rooftop. Looking back, all our efforts were worth it.
