Can domestic hydrogen feed pumps be used? What problems may arise during operation?
Sure, high-speed pumps are generally used to achieve the pressure required for the reaction process
High-speed pumps are relatively expensive, costing more than twice as much as those made in China; therefore, we chose double-shell horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pumps. I’m not sure what problems might arise frequently during use, especially in winter.
We use domestic ones here; they work fine. The output pressure is 10 MPa
First and foremost, it is certainly fine to use domestic hydrogen feed pumps. The poster should specify what type of hydrogenation unit it is. For example, in the case of hydrogenation feed pumps that operate at high pressures, handle large flow rates, and require energy recovery turbines, the inlet section needs to be taken into consideration. Considering the overall level of China’s equipment manufacturing industry, there are no issues with using domestic pumps and motors; however, the energy recovery turbines are not up to standard, as they have a high failure rate and low efficiency. Therefore, all hydrogen feed pumps other than these can be selected as domestically manufactured. Domestic manufacturers include the Petrochemical Pump Factory affiliated with Shenyang Turbine Compressor Co., Ltd. and Shenyang Grid Pump Industry; the joint venture Jarrit-Ebara is also an option. Well, I agree with the person above. Currently, hydrogenation units usually consist of one domestically produced unit and one imported unit equipped with a turbine
The choice depends on the pressure required by the process; for high-pressure pumps, it is recommended to use foreign brands such as ABB or Ebara. Domestic pumps cannot meet the required pressures and can only be used as backups, and for only short periods of time. Domestic medium and low-pressure pumps are fine; Shenyang Greide’s pumps work as well!
If the head of the hydrogen feed pump is below 1800 meters, domestic pumps generally pose no problems

Our company has been using the Shenyang Greide double-shell hydrogen feeding pump for two years now, with no problems at all; it operates for one cycle each time it is started. No problem.
