Many people may notice that the interest rate on fixed-term deposits is 0.72%, which can be expressed as 9/1250 when using two numbers whose greatest common divisor is 1. In other words, depositing 1250 units of wealth for one month earns an interest of 9 units of wealth. How much does that one interest amount need to be deposited? 1250/9 is approximately 139; therefore, the interest is 0 when the deposit amount is less than 139. It is best for the deposit amount to be an integer multiple of 139.
