　　According to news from Beijing on September 12, FIFA’s official website released the latest team rankings. Thanks to victories in the last two rounds of the playoff stage, the Chinese national football team saw its ranking rise by 15 places, reaching 62nd in the world and 6th in Asia. This represents the best world ranking for the Chinese team in over 12 years. The top five teams in Asia are Iran, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. 　　In the last two rounds of the group stage in the top 12 competition, the Chinese national team won 1-0 at home against Uzbekistan and 2-1 away against Qatar. Thanks to these two victories, China’s FIFA ranking improved significantly, rising from 77 in August to 62 at present; its ranking in Asia also improved, moving from 8th to 6th, overtaking Uzbekistan and the UAE. The last time the Chinese national team’s ranking was below 62 was in September 2005, when Zhu Guanghu was the coach and the team reached rank 60. 　　Furthermore, the top 10 in the world are: Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, France, Chile, and Colombia.
