I used to be the one under evaluation, but suddenly I was informed that I would be going to Beijing as an expert to participate in an evaluation meeting. I was filled with excitement and nervousness; excited because it was my first time participating in an evaluation meeting as an expert, and there was a substantial fee for it. I’m nervous because I know nothing about this field, and I’m afraid I’ll embarrass myself at the event. That day, I quickly went online to look up various materials in order to study intensively and be prepared for any eventualities. The accommodation in Beijing was arranged at a star-rated hotel; upon checking the cost, it turned out to be over a thousand yuan per night, which really made me feel quite surprised. Thinking back to when I was reviewed, I paid out of my own pocket; the cost was only three hundred. At the venue, I read from the script and recited the materials I had prepared. The meeting was over; I received a thousand coins and headed back home.
Experts enjoy a high level of status and benefits, and they receive a gratuity upon the completion of the evaluation.
Experts are great; it seems you’re very skilled in this area
This is the situation for expert judges these days. I hope you stay true to yourself, hold firm to your principles, and don’t become a pawn of those who lead the meetings. Additionally, it is a great opportunity to learn from expert judges. At the same time, being able to serve as an expert judge indicates that you are part of the expert pool, allowing you to continue striving for opportunities to participate in evaluations; the more often you appear, the greater your expertise becomes.
Now, getting these 1000 isn’t that easy either; the expert who signs off has to take responsibility. It’s fine if nothing goes wrong, but if there are issues, they can’t just run away… I know this all too well
