Are wine and peanuts a natural match?
:Lol, I don’t know why either. But I just like it.
Speaking of Kong Yiji, there is some truth to it!
After a few rounds of drinks and having eaten enough, everyone’s faces are red from excitement as they engage in lively conversations; they raise their glasses to drink more, in order to keep their mouths satisfied! The portion of vegetables is too small, and besides, my stomach can’t hold any more. I need some snacks; firstly to counteract the effects of alcohol, and secondly to hide the signs of drunkenness. Look, I can still use chopsticks – I’m not drunk! What would you like? Sunflower seeds? That’s too stingy ; Walnuts? It’s too hard ; Pistachios, almonds? Gentlemen don’t drink in such a fancy way; shall we give each person a piece of boiled corn then? ……Why don’t you mention roasted sweet potatoes? So what should we eat? I still need peanuts. It’s best if these peanuts are in their shells; if not, they should at least have red skins. While peeling them and removing the red skins, one should keep their eyes half-closed and listen carefully to what others say. Whenever someone tells something interesting, put the peeled peanuts in your mouth—but don’t rush to chew them right away; instead, clap your hands and say, “Hey!” I’ve heard about this too!
Peanuts served with alcohol are simply referred to as peanut liquor...
Peanut oil is rich in content and can help relieve the effects of alcohol.
